Shweta Gulati refuses to be stereotyped. She wants to play any role that pleases her, whether it means playing a modern day career driven woman or a homely-bahu.
Says Shweta, "All that matters to me is that I should be able to enjoy the work I'm doing." Shweta made it big on TV with her role as the rich spoilt Tia in Remix.
Now she is back with a romantic comedy on Bindass called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a romantic comedy that is is set in an advertising agency. The actress seems very happy with her new project.
"I liked the concept from the moment it was narrated to me." She's excited about her new grown-up role in the serial.
"I'm playing a smart, sassy business woman called Rhea." A character whose traits aren't too far from Shweta's in real life.
"I could relate quite closely to my screen role." The show documents the love and hate relationship between men and women, hence the title.
Talk turns to the shooting of the serial and she recalls how once shot a 15 page scene at one go. "Of course there were many retakes," she adds with a laugh.
Her hunky co-star is debutant Akshay Dogra and she's all praise for him. "He's very hardworking. enjoyed his company, he's an extremely sweet guy." She's hush-hush about life after Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
"I have offers for many shows in the pipeline but can't comment further than that." What she's more than willing to talk about is her theatre experience.
She is currently working in a play called Aastha, which deals with human relationships. And she's really hoping that the play will be performed in Delhi.
